From the East

My Brothers; Our last meeting this month (March 24 2010) will be a Fellow-craft degree. Brother Jack Stafford will be sitting in the East. We have 4 brothers from Ark 39 and one from Union 40 that will be passed to the FC degree. Brother John Stack from King Solomons will be performing the middle chamber. We may also be visited by a brother from Denmark. This should be a very interesting evening so come out and support the lodge.

This week (3-17-2010) King Solomons Lodge will be having an historical presentation that should help fill in some of the history of Masonry in the state of Connecticut. The history of Masonry in Connecticut has been a vital part of our countries past, I recommend, that if you can come to King Solomons for the evening, you will not be disappointed. I will see you there.

Next week on 3-23-2010 Eureka Lodge in Bethel is going to have their inspection on the Fellow-craft degree. For the brothers participating in the Fellow-craft degree at Ark Lodge on the 24th you might want to come to Eureka to see the degree or help out.

Ark Lodge is still asking our brothers to contribute to the relief of our Haitian brothers at Universal Fraternity Lodge 149 in Stratford. If you can make a donation please send it to the lodge PO box or give it to the secretary when you come to lodge . Ever dollar counts.

Next month our first meeting(4-14-2010)  will be a business meeting and a step up night. All the officers will advance to the next chair. So learn your places and stations. We will also be voting on a candidate. Which should lead to an EA degree for the last meeting in April( the 28th).

The schedual for May 12th and 26th is for a Master Mason degree on the 12th and a business meeting on the 26th.  but this could change with the availability of our King Solomon. As for June, we will have to wait and see. There are a number of EAs that are away at school who will, hopefully, come home and want to be passed to the next degree. If this is the case the first meeting in June(6-9-2010) will be a Fellow-craft degree and the last meeting before summer (6-23-2010) will be our anual Hawaiian Shirt BBQ. I have invited the sisters of Eastern Star (Stellar Chapter) to join us for the evening.

AS A REMINDER: we are planning the fishing trip again this year for the same time in August. Give or take a day or two. So try to keep that Sunday opened .What Sunday you ask? I will let you know after i have reserved the date.

All Brothers in Connecticut and around the world have taken an active role in helping with the relief efforts in Haiti. Our Brothers in Universal Fraternity Lodge 149 have been particularly affected by the earthquakes in January, many losing close family members. Keep these good Brothers in your prayers. Visit Universal if you can you will be welcomed.
